I was chairman of the Unemployment Commit»ee. until July 17, but could not get an audited statement from Mr Batchelor,” etc. As previously stated, I was never , once asked to present a statement of any description, but, knowing my position as treasurer of the fund, I presented a statement of the receipts and expenditure at «7 e jy. meeting after the revue had concluded. It is true that, the statements were not audited, but who ever heard of every statement of receipts and expenditure, being audited before the affair is closed, or, in the case of companies or ?? 10n 5’ . el % r r half-yearly or yearly? In regard to Mr Black s statement that he could not get an audited statement from ’ J Q6ny this, for Mr Black never asaed for an audited statement at any meeting. This statement of Mr Black’s ls i> n a Par with his previous statement, and until Mr Black accepts the challenge issued by me I will not reply to any further letters written by > him. Regarding the public wishing. to know anything about ■ the funds and an audited balance sheet, I shall be pleased, to allow any person interested to see same certified by a, certificated accountant, or, if they so desire, to examine the books and vouchers. n , W.
