OTAGO A. AND P. SOCIETY.
SUMMER SHOW. Jv 0 * 810 * of General Committee or the Otago A. and P. Society to appoint snb-committoee consisting of three memoera to revise tbe Summer Show schedule, recommend judges, and to appoint the necessary class stewards for each section, t lirn ?d out satisfactorily. The teeult has beenthat each flection has been carefully revised, and the schedule is now being distributed. It would be, impoasible to review the different classes, but it is evident that this year’s schedule will give every breeder an opportunity of competing. ‘Whilst admitting that the society e summer shows should ro-. ceive more support, it cannot be said as far as quality is concerned that it lacks anything. The committee has again included maiden classes in Romney sheep. Border Leicesters, Corriedales, and Merinos, and hopes that it will receive sufficient sup-, port,, not only to justify it in continuing the present glasses, but to extend similar conditions in other sections. There are a number of breeders who have undoubts cd!y good stock, but who may not care to go to the expense of getting their stock in good, condition to enable them to compete with the more favourably-placed rival breeders. A varied and most attractive programme has been arranged for the Peoples Day. Given good weather and reasonable loyalty and support from breeders and the general public, the gum: mer Show' should be a financial success* For the convenience of intending exhibitors, copies of the schedule can be obtained from kindred associations and from representatives of the various stock agents throughout Otago. The Show Grounds are in excellent condition, and instruction has been given to have the sheep and cattle pens atteded to, and other necessary repairs executed.
