Mr J. K. Simpson was a passenger for Wellington by the north express yesterday. Mr F, H. Lampen left by the mid-day express yesterday, en route for Auckland. Mr F,' B. Adams left for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Professor Hornell, who has been conducting investigations into the hydro-elec, trie works at Arapuni, arrived in Dunedin yesterday, and is staying at the City Hotel. He vrill visit Waipori to-day and to-morrow to study the site of the proposed tunnel and the ground traversed by the pipe lines. A Press Association cable message from London states that. Sir Archibald and Lady Weigall are going to Australia via New Zealand in January, and are visiting Lord and Lady Bledisloe. From 76 applicants, Mr H. 0. Cotton, of Auckland, has been appointed secretary to the Te Aroha Jockey and Trotting Clubs.
