CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. (Special to Dailt Times.) AUCKLAND, October 2. The weather to-day was fine and sunny with a light wind from the south-west. The barometer continued to rise steadily, the reading this evening being SO.lOin. WELLINGTON, October 2. The improvement in the weather on Wednesday continued to-day. In the morning there were periods of cloiidi* ness, but after noon the sun shone brightly. The wind was from the south. CHRISTCHURCH, October 2. The weathdr was pleasantly warm today, with a very light air from the south-west. The maximum temperature 59dcg. The barometer is' steady at 30.11 m. J
