FORBURY PARK TROTTING v CLUB.
' MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Forhury Park Trotting. Club’s Committee was held last night in the club’s boardroom. Mr B, S. Irwin (president) occupied the chair, and there were also present Messrs James Mitchell, H. Archbold, W. Goughian,'-A. Clarke, R. Teller, J. Ttengrove, John Mitchell, J. Richardson, J. Black, A. G. Neill, and G. Barton. ( • The Otago A. and P. Society wrote thanking the club for its donation of £lO 10s for. prizes at the Summer'Show. The suggestion that the money should he used for trotting events had been noted. A further letter stated that two events; for trotters had been arranged, and the club was asked to nominate two members, one of whom would be appointed by the society to judge the events.—-The letters were received and Messrs John and James Mitchell were nominated. The secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Conference', wrote stating that the Northland Trotting' Club, which was recommended by. the conference to race on October 18, instead of Labour Day now wished to race on January 29, 1931. It was desired to know whether the Fortuity Park Club was likely to raise any objection.—lt was decided to reply that the club offered no objection. The Invercargill Trotting Club wrote asking if the committee knew of any reason why a professional license to ride, drive, and train trotting horses should not be granted to W. Grant. The letter was received, and the secretary was instructed to reply that the committee knew of no reason. The granting of professional drivers’, riders' and trainers’ licenses was recommended in the following cases:—William Allan, iun.. James Wilfred Clearwater. James Andrew Arthur Reid, Charles George Mountney. The programme for the spring meeting was adopted. Accounts amounting to £B2O 8s 7d were passed for payment. The following were appointed a Judi cial Committee for the spring meeting:— Messrs Irwin; Neill, Clarke, Archbold and Goughian.
