PRESBYTERLIN BIBLE CLASSES
ELOCUTIONARY AND CHORAL COMPETITIONS. The third annual choral and elocutionary competition festival of the Presbyterian Young Women’s and Young Men’s Bible Class Unions was held in. Sidey Hall, Caversham, recently. The function proved to- be a very successful and enjoyable one," most of the sections drawing good entries. The judges were:—Pianoforte and vocal, Mr R. K. Macfiej elocution. Miss Smith; violin, Miss Bay ley; impromptu speech, Mr J.' B. Thomson. . The results were as follows:—Pianoforte solo, under 16 (“The Crystal Spring/’ valsc impromptu—Kern).— Miss K. Wilson I, Miss M. Hewitson 2, Miss K. Steele 3. Duet (lady and gentleman).—Miss' M. M'Allum and Mr F. M'Allum i; Violin solo, under 18 years. ("To a 1 Wild Rose”—M'Dowell).—Mr S. Larkins 1,-Miss Macandrew 2. Ladies’ Solo.—Miss'P. Christie 1, Miss D. Mac Kay 2, Miss B. Murray 3. Recitation (open selection )T—Mr k Stewart 1, Miss R. Clarke 2, Miss K. Steel 3. Pianoforte Solo, open ("Sonata, Rondo, Opus 14, No. I ’—Beethoven). Mr G. Findlay 1, Miss I. Smith 2, Miss J.
