Miss Sophie Tucker, who ia at present f. bI S hit on the West End stage, believes that fat Avomen are able to wear the latest fashions and look smart in them. In order to prove her theory she turned mannequin at a West End dress room, where, with Miss Vera Pearce and other etara of the London stage, she wore frocks which were planned to show off their special charms of plumpness. Miss Tucker says: “ Why these early ihorning exercises, 18-day diets, lemon sippings, when fat women can score every time? Have you seen a fat woman in an old maid’s home ”
