CLERICAL CABINET FARMED. ELECTIONS TO BE HEjLD SOON. (United Frees' Association.) (By ‘Electric Telegraph— Copy rtphi ) VIENNA, September 30. (Received Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.) . Vaugoin has formed a clerical Cabinet to aid the Heimwehr, or Fascists. Elections will be held very shortly. At the last general elections, held' bn April 24, 1927, the following Parties were returned:— Christian Socialists .. ... 73 Social Democrats. 71 1 German Nationalists .. ... .. 12 Peasants’ Party ■ ;■. ...... 9 Total ~ . ; .. .. .. ~ 105 Monsignor Siebel became Chancellor for the fourth time; but resigned at the beginning of April, 1920, causing a Government crisis which ended when Dr Ernst Streerenwitz formed a Ministry the following month. This gave waiy before the clashing interests of the Heimwehr (Fascist private army) and the Shuetzhund (Socialist private army). Dr Johann Schober, formerly chief of inoi * len, ? a - police and ‘Chancellor in 1921, agreed to the irequest of a coalition of Pan-German Agrarian, and Christian Socialist Parties to head a Gbvern“e,nV He completed his Cabinet by October 10 and succeeded in maintainmg order. He * presented ah extensive constitutional * revision programme designed to strengthen' the authority of the Central Government. Herr Vaugoin was Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Defence'in the Schober Cabinet, which resigned last week.
