GAMBLING DEBTS.
THEFTS BY BANK TELLER. ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. (Peb United Pbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 30. Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M, Frederick George M'Kay, aged 30, a former teller in the Bank of New South Wales at Greymouth, pleaded guilty to charges of the theft of £314, the property of the bank, and .was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. In a statement made to the police the accused said he got into debt, mainly through gambling on horses, and he took the money to meet a debt contracted at Greymouth. ■ Bail was allowed, self in £3OO and two sureties of £l5O each.
