There wag a good attendance of parents interested in the work of the Girl Guide-movement at the annual meeting of the Mornington Girl Guides, held on Monday evening in the Boy Scouts’ nev hall, Argyle street. The Rev. V. Fisher presided over the gathering. . Reports from the Ladies’ Committee and from the captain of the Guides and the Brownies were read. , T|ie company work, it was stated, had been carried on by Captain F. Fickard and Lieutenant Rawnsley. the, finding it necessary to retire. Her position was now filled by a young woman who had earned high honours in Guide work (Miss Sligo). A senior girl had received the appointment of cadette. ■ Fifteen badges had been won, and si* girls had completed second class work. The roll showed a member ship of 28. The Brownie pack (17) was in charge of Miss L. Barnett (brown' owl), assisted by Mies Mollie Boyd (tawny owl). The treasurers'- reports showed that each body had a credit ’balance. The following officers were elected:- i President, Mrs Angel; vice-presidents— Mesdames T Brown and Whiteside: committee—Mesdames Fields Sainsbury. Herrick. and Miss Rawnsley; secretary, Mrs M'Millan; treasurer, Mrs Sainsbury; patron. Mr Moody, Miss White gave an interesting and in structive address which was much appreciated, _ She expressed the hope that they might yet be able in Dunedin to arrange for a preliminary officers' training class. Votes of thanks were accorded to Miss White and the Rev. V. Fisher, and at the close the committee provided refreshments.
