HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.
The fortnightly meeting of the St Joseph’s branch (No. 73) of the Hibev nian Society was held in the club room l of the Dunedin Hibernian Social and De bating Chib in Tuesday evening, a Jargi attendance being presided over by th< president JBro. J. E. Ryan). All thi officers were present with the exceptior ot the warden, who sent an apology. Two new members were nominated. Reference was made to the initiatioi charge, the wording of which memben did not consider to be altogether appro priate to New Zealand conditions, I was also suggested that any brother win aspired to the presidential chair shouh endeavour to learn the charge. The sick vis'tors reported having viaitec various brothers who were in failinj health, and sick allowances were passei for payment. „ The 'branch delegates to the Unite. Friendly Societies Dispensary Council re ported on the recent meeting of th. council.
