A.D. Bro. J. Clinch presided over a good attendance of members and visitors at the fortnightly meeting of Bay Lodge, held on Tuesday lost. A donation of £1 la was made, to the fund of the Chair of Obstetrics. A pleasing feature of the business was that the lodge had no sick members on its list. Several members gave interesting accounts of visits to Mistletoe and Royal Oak Lodges. It was decided to challenge Royal Oak Lodge for the euchre shield. On the handing around of the annual report and balance sheet of the Friendly Societies’ Dispensary, a lively discussion took place, and the dele* gate was given several items to bring up at the next meeting of the board. One candidate was proposed by Bro. Robertson for membership. The team for the Ross-Stewart Shield competition then took over the lodge for the purpose of initiates a candidate. A very good rendering was given, and this 'augurs well for the success of the team at the forthcoming competition. Members are reminded that next lodge night the election of officers ukes place, and it is hoped that a good :ill| Bter of members will attend. Visitors present included P.D.P, Bro. J. Bond (Enterprise Lodge). P.A: Bro. M’Crone id V.A. Bro. Tasker (Otago Lodge),,and P.A. Bro. R. Morns (Lily of the Valley). Supper brought a very enjoyable and instructive evening to n clpse. The meeting of the Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodgeroom, Caversham, A.D. Bro. Steele presiding. AJ), Bro. Steele was elected delegate to the U.F.S Dispensary Committee. The secretary was instructed to enter a team for the Ross Stewart Shield competition. M.C. Bro. Hunt reported that the lodge had visited Enterprise Lodge, s,nd had succeeded in winning the euchre shield. After the lodge business was completed a vicearch competition was held, eight competitors taking part, and; after keen competition, Bro. P. Hudson was declared the winner. P.D.P. Bro. Ruston and P.D.P Bro. Briggs acted as judges for the above competition, and were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for same. J.P.A. Bro. Bezett (Enterprise). P.A. Bro. Bartlett (Bay), and Bro. Binder (Ivanhoe) replied to the toast of “The Visitors." The fortnightly meeting of Mistletoe Lodge was held in St. Mark’s Hall, Green Island, A.D, Bro. J. C. S. Logie presiding over a good muster of members. Correspondence was dealt with and sick pay passed for payment. Bro. H. Runt, of Royal Oak Lodge, gave a (brief address on the juvenile movement. The remaining business waa quickly despatched, an'd the lodge adjourned for the purpose of entertaining lady friends'' and members; This took the form of a progressive euchre game, followed by a social. Prize-winners in euchre were: Mrs Johns (first) and Mre Ruston (booby prize), P.A. Bro Mildenhall (first) and Bro. Hall (booby prize). Items were given by Mrs Ruston and P.D;P. Bro. Ruston (Bay Lodge). Bro. Chcyne supplied the music for the dancing. P.D.P. Bro. Huston thanked the lodge on behalf of Bay Lodge. A pleasant evening was then brought to a close. Routine business occupied the attention of the Otago Lodge at its last meeting. Several important matters relating to the forthcoming jubilee of the lodge were discussed, and the various sub-committees reported that arrangements were well -in hand. It was resolved that the match with Ivanhoe for the euchre shield be played in the Ivanhoe lodgeroom on May 14. After the supper adjournment Bro. E, Hamilton Eager and his concert party entertained the lodge with a musical ond elocutionary programme. The members present showed their appreciation by hearty applause, and the party was accorded a hearty vote of thanks- for the entertainment. A good'muster of members greeted A.D. Bro. W. 6. Leathley, who presided over the regular, meeting of Enterprise Lodge, which was held last Wednesday. During the evening one candidate was admitted to the mysteries of Druidism, and one proposition was handed in. The Royal Arch Chapter wrote advising that the Ross Stewart Shield competition is to be held on May 24, and the secretary was instructed to enter a team on behalf of the lodge. The delegates to the dispensary meeting asked for their instructions, and the various remits were discussed, and the delegates received their instructions. The bards reported on the sick brethren, and sick pay to the amount of £l6 was passed for payment. The business of the evening was quickly disposed of, and the syllabus item “ Ladies’ Night," was carried out. The arch druid welcomed the ladies and opened the proceedings with a dance, Bro. J. H. Alexander being at the piano. Dancing, music, and games were, indulged in, and after supper had been handed round the proceedings were brought to a close with “Auld Lang Syne.” Items were contributed by Bro. J. H. Alexander (song), Bro. J, H. Alexander and Mr Bro-wn (duet), Bro. J. Denny (song), and Bro. R. Leathley (song).
