GOLF.
HOKAWHITU LINKS. OPEN AUTUMN FOURSOMES. (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., May 9. On the Hokowhitu links the golf foursomes competition was continued this morning. The semi-finals resulted:— Mrs G. Williams and Miss B. Williams (Masterton), scr, heat Misses S. Watson (Manawatu) and E. Bell (Wellington)., scr, 1 up at the nineteenth. Misses B. Glaasford (Marton) and M. Guy (Manawatu), beat Mrs Macrae (Masterton) and Miss Pharazyn (Napier), 4'to lat the nineteenth. Both were good matches, with the golf a little unsteady at times. In the first semi-final the Masterton pair, when 3 down at the fourth, played good golf to square the game at the eighteenth and win the deciding hole. In the other semi-final Mrs Macrae and Miss Pharazyn were 1 up at tbe sixteenth, the seventeenth was halved, but the game was squared at the eighteenth. Misses Gaisford and Guy took the nineteenth hole. Miss Guy sinking a long putt. The final round resulted: Misses Guy (Manawatu) and Gaisford (Marton), scr, heat Mrs and Miss Williams (Masterton). 5 to 4.
