of air locks and pumps. Reputed‘to be the oldest person living in the eastern counties of England, Mrs Elizabeth Easier, of South Primrose Hill. Chelmsford, became 104 the other day. Three of her eight children are living, and there are 35 grandchildren, 59 greatgrandchildren, and four great-great-grand-children. Mrs Haslcr had her hair bobbed when she was 102, and it has been kept bobbed ever since. Tn an interview, Mrs Easier declared, “ I am horrified at the short skirts the girls wear these days, but I think hair bobbing is a most sensible thing. If only somebody had thought about it when I was a girl, what trouble it would have saved me, but 1 am making up for it in my old age,** Mrs Hosier’s husband died in 1015, aged 87. She lives with her “ baby ” daughter, who is 78, and she is still able to knit and sew.
