As an indication of the special value of tliis industry to the country, it may be mentioned that the company specialises in tho use of codliver oil. This is procured direct from Norway, ami is graded “ First Grade No. 1 quality Finest Medicinal.” All the barley used is grown in specially suited areas under contract, and is malted by a special process suitable for their requirements. All the glassware is New Zealand-made; in fact, everything they use is. made in the country if at all possible. All the medicinal “Maltexo” and “Maltexo with Cod Liver Oil” are subject to the very strictest regulations of the Health .Department, which are very much more rigid than those imposed on the British manufacturer. These qualities arc recognised by New Zealand medical men. and the manufacturers attribute their ability to hold their own against competition to the recognition of tho fine quality of their production.
