Messrs Brinsley and Co.’s porceluii enamelling plant marks a new era in the industrial life of Dunedin. In conjunc with the existing large manufacturing loundry, this now plant which has beer installed is the most modern procurable in the world,to-day. The old methods ol porcelain enamelling, which were re sponsible for so much wastage and fault} work through distortion and crazinf . owing to lack of temperature contro in the furnaces, .have recently been super seded by the new processes which are in eluded in Messrs Brinsley and CoA ‘ Champion ” works. Temperature heal controls on the furnaces eliminate the uu certain element, and the large automatic sandblast machine, the pickling vats wit! overhead carriers, the porcelain-linec enamel frit mills, the air pressure spray ing booths, and “•Unilitc ” drying room
all .combine to bring beauty and distinc tion to the home, and to eliminate labour in producing completely porcelain enamelled Champion ” products. .■“-Champion” gas stoves and other "Champion’ products in the all-porcelain enamelled finish will require only a damp cloth tc maintain that beautiful finish which only porcelain enamel can furnish. Mr Stephen Stewald,who has been ir Charge of several of the largest porcelain enamelling businesses in Great Britain, is experienced in all classes of enamelled products, and is a specialist in the manufacture of - uon-chipable enamel, has been engaged to take charge of the plant. The manufacture of • Messrs Brinsley and Co.’s “ Champion ” gas stoves, combination gas stoves and hot water boilers, coal ranges and independent boilers, recognised as the hall-mark of efficiency and design throughout the Dominion, em- . ploys a large number of local people, and New Zealand Onakaka pig iron is used in the production.
