SOLDIERS' REHABILITATION.

REPORT OF COMMISSION., PUBLICATION EXPECTED SHORTLY. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, May 5. ‘‘lt will be published this week if at all possible,” said the Minister of Defence (Mr J. G. Cobbe) when asked today as to the position of the report of the Soldiers’ Rehabilitation Commission, which rebently investigated the question of soldiers’ economic pensions. “ The report is in print, and the proofs, I believe, were corrected to-day,” ha said. “ It is only waiting now to be dealt with by the Cabinet before being published. The original report consists of 71 pages, with nine pages of appendices. It is a lengthy document, and I have hardly been able to grip it myself yet." The three commissioners (Mr J. S. Barton, S.M., Sir John Luke, and Mr S. J. Harrison) handed their report to the Minister just before he left for Samoa, where he represented the Government in the negotiations with the Man. During the Minister’s absence the Pensions Department had the opportunity of considering the report, and on Mr Cobbe’s return it was forwarded to the repatriation branch of the State Advances Department, it being considered that the recommendations weer of such great importance as to necessitate consideration by these two departments.

exceptionally high order. Arliss has a hundred and one _ mannerisms and movements which are in themselves as expressive as many of his words. His supporting artists are, like himself, English in speech and demeanour, and as a result impart to the film an English atmosphere refreshingly novel and acceptable to English audiences. Nothing that the Warner Bros.’ studios have sent to this country in the past has made the appeal that “ Disraeli ” has made, nor have any previous films exhibited the technical and, dramatic qualities which make this a very definite milestone in the history of the progress of the articulate screen. An entertaining series of short subjects is also shown.

PLAZA THEATRE; Jacqueline Logan, Alec. B, Francis, and Rex Lease have the principal roles in “ Broadway Daddies,” a story of the New Ydrk stage, which will be commenced at the Plaza Theatre to-night. The other players include Phillips Smalley, Dedacia Mooers, Clarissd Selwynne, and Betty Francisco In support of this film is ‘‘ Unseeing Eyes,” It is a story of adventrue, love, and thrill in the snowclad regions of the Canadian Rockies. One of the most thrilling points in the film is when two aeroplanes race for a suitable landing place over the snowclad mountainous heights. Lionel Barrymore and Suna Owen are the featured players, while there is a strong supporting cast. The Plaza Orchestra will supply the incidental music, while as an entr’acte, Mrs K. B. Johnstone will render “Mazur,” as a violin solo.

KING EDWARD THEATRE. The King Edward Theatre’s principal offering at the change of programme tonight will be “ Chinatown Charlie,” in which that irrepressible clown Johnny Hines has the leading role. He is seen as the guide on a bus conducting visitors to New York through the Chinese quarters of the city. The supporting picture is “ Keep Smiling.” in which Monty Bank's is the chief reveller.
