Miller had a floating hurdle composed of planks, at’ which he rushed his speed boat, aiming to force the boat up prior to shooting over the, obstacle.’ The onlookers begged Miller not ■to attempt the feat owing to the danger. Miller dashed at the hurdle at terrific speed, and caused the boat to leap six feet into the air. A terrific explosion followed, and ‘Miller collapsed, terribly injured in the head by fragments of the flywheel, which flew off owing to the engine racing.
