A BRILLIANT TWO-YEAR-OLD TROTTER.

* Mr CD * Hudson’s high-class colt, Todd Lonzia, by Lorenes Todd-DapW Dell, which will attempt to establish an Australian and New Zealand mile record for a two-year-old at the Forbury Parle Club’s meeting this week. Driver and trainer, Arthur Cox. Our Christchurch" correspondent telegraphs as follows; At Addington this morning A. Cox gave his two-year-old, Todd Lonzia. his final work-out previous to going to Dunedin on his attempt to trot an exhibition mile in 2.20 or better. Those who had doubled the ability of the colt to aepomplish the task are convinced now that with ordinary luck new figures will be established. Todd Lonzia set off from the mile post accompanied by Brentlight (V. Alborn) as pacemaker, and from a comparatively slow moving start the young trotter settled down to his task in. workmanlike style and without being unduly hurried he carried on until a quarter from home when he. increased the speed, covering the last two furlongs in 34sec and the last furlong in 16£sec. The track was in excellent order, but the performance in any case was a particularly good one, for Todd Lonzia was not overtaxed in doing it. His connections are more than ever convinced that fresh figures for a two-year-old trotter will be established.
