ST.KILDA CARNIVAL.
On Saturday the St, Hilda Beach Improvement Society will stage its third carnival in an endeavour to raise funds to improve the Ocean Beach. The function. will be opened at 3 p.m. by the Minister of Railways (Mr W. B. Taverner) ..patron of the society, and the grounds will, be brilliantly illuminated, and in addition to the usual “ Chocolate Alley ” several novelty events will be introduced. There will be competitions of all descriptions, and the St. Kilda Band will provide music in the evenings. The St. .Hilda Society has in view the same objects as its sister society (the St. Clair Beach Improvement Society) viz., the extension of the esplanade from St. Clair to St. Hilda.
