GENEROUS BEQUESTS.
VALUABLE AUCKLAND ESTATE,
(Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, February 28. A large number of benefactions to religious and philanthropic institutions have been arranged for under the will of Mr John Marshall, of Remuera, who died on New Year’s Day. Mr Marshal], who was born in Albert street in March, 1848, was a son of one of the founders of Auckland and was known throughout his life as a generous patron of many forms of sport. The sum of £2OOO has been left to the I resbytenan Church of New Zealand for. the purpose of establishing and maintaining one or more scholarships for the education of theological students of the church. After several private bequests have been satisfied, the residuary estate is to be divided into 29 equal shares, and disposed of in the following proportions: Six parts to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind; five to Knox Home for Incurables; five to the Auckland Young Men's Christian Association; two to the Salvation Array for its work in the City of Auckland; three to the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (Auckland branch) for its work in the city; two to the Young Womens Christian Association; one to the Auckland Hospital for the purchase of toys and comforts for child patients; three to the,. Auckland Presbyterian Social Service Association; one to the St. John Ambulance Association; and one to the British and Foreign Bible Society. .
