BANK CLERK ARRESTED.

ALLEGED THEFT OF £SOO. (Special to Daily Times.) ALEXANDRA, February 26. John Albert Simes, about 19 years of age, and employed as a clerk in the Bank of New Zealand. Alexandra, was this morning brought before. Mr W. Bringans, J.P., and Mr Lawrence Ryan, J.F., and charged with the theft of £520 from the bank. The money was missed on Monday and the accused admitted the theft to Constable Sorrell and Detective Nuttall. . He took the detective to his bedroom and handed over the money. Detective Nuttall prosecuted, and the accused was remanded to appear at Alexandra on March 6, bail being allowed, self £2OO and one surety of £2OO, which ,Jvaa forthcoming, Mr Sunderland appeared for the accused.
