STATUS OF INVERCARGILL.
FROM BOROUGH TO CITY. (Per United Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, February 2a . A message was received this evening from the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr P. A. de la Perrelle) stating that a • proclamation would be gazetted to-mor-row declaring Invercargill a city from March 1. The mayor (Mr J. D. Campbell) said that the significance of this change was that Invercargill became a city without any alterations in its bonndries.
