THE BAND CONTEST.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —At the conclusion of your report on the C Grade Brass Bands’ Contest in this niqrning’s issue, 1 notice a remark concerning the ineligibility of any band playing more than one professional player. I was always under the impression that a. band was entitled tp only one professional. On Saturday night one local band had no fewer than four of these players —one soprano. tw<j cornets, and one tenor horn. Unless the regulations have been altered for this contest, in the • interests of fair_ play, the association should look into this matter immediately.—l am, etc.. February 24. One Professional. [Each band is limited to one professional player. The association is looking into the matter referred to in th? above letter.— Ed., O.D.T.]
