PICNIC.
HIBERNIAN'SOCIETY’S OUTING,
The members of the Dunedin Hibernian Social and Debating Club held a picnic at Waare JMat on Sunday, January 19. A very pleasant day was spent, and the success of the outing .was due to the work of the Grounds Committee (Messrs A Gilhck, J. Hughes, J. E. Ryan. A. Sullivan, and G. O Connell) . The following was the sports programme for the day:— Fay Dawson Handicap (75 yards).—V. Cahill.
J. Grindiey Plate (220 yards).—A. Y Dowling. Club President’s Handicap (100 yards). ~G. L. Leith,
J. J. Kennedy Tramp (120 yards, walk) —B. Lowe.
P. Herbert Cup (Siamese race). —G. O’Connell and E. Corner.
T. J. Boyle Handicap (wheelbarrow race). —H. Tarleton and H. Wilson. F. G. Brown Handicap (50 yards).— A. Gillick.
A cricket match, President v. Vicepresident, concluded a very enjoyable day, the President’s team winning by 20 runs.
