Vice-Regal, The Governor-General (Sir Charles J? ergusaon) and Lady Alice Fergusson paid their final official visit to Auckland last week. They attended the last two days of the Auckland Racing Club’s meeting and were accorded a farewell on tfi'e concluding day. On Friday Sir Charles sam goodbye to the veterans, while her Excellency was accorded a farewell by the women of Auckland. During the visit three presentations were made, one being from the Maori women, who voiced their gratitude for the services rendered uy Lady Alice to those organisations which aimed at helping their sex. In the evening their Excellencies were entertained at a large gathering of citizens in the Town Hall. Tfhe Mayor (Mr G. Baildon) presented to Sir Charles an address from the city expressing esteem and affection for their Excellencies. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr J B. .Uonald) and the Minister of Health (Mr A. J. Stallworthy) were on the platform.
