BENCRUACHAN TO LOAD. Tha Scales chartered steamer Bencruachan was to leave Plcton on Wednesday morning for further loading at Tolago Bay, Napier, Tlmaru. and Port Chalmers. The Federal Company adrljes that the Surrey was due at Wellington yesterday from Melbourne to await her loading, which will commence at Wellington on December 30. The vessel will leave Wellington on January 4 to load at Wanganui, Watkokopu, Gisborne, and Auckland. She will sail finally from Auckland on January 21 for New York, Boston, Halifax, and London, via Panama canal. IMPROVEMENTS TO MOOLTAN. - When the P. and O. Uner Mooltan reaches Australia toward the end of December, the extensive reconstruction of cabin accommodation in the first and second saloons will bo noted with Interest by the travelling public. An extra deck of cabins with the most modern equipment, has been added In both saloons All cabins which were originally three-berth cabins ate now two-berth, and all original two-berth cabins are single. In spite of the additional decks taken up for passengers, only 37 more passengers are carried, and as heretofore all can be accommodated at one sitting in the dining saloon. In the first saloon there are 114 single berth cabins, 116 two-berth cabins and six cablns-de-tuxe, and the size of the cabins la the same as when originally two and three-berth cabins. Blocks of cabins with connecting doors are available for family parties. All first saloon cabins are fitted with cot beds. Music, lounge and smoke rooms in each saloon bare been redecorated.

Tho second saloon accommodation now Consists of 72 two-bertb cabins, 14 three-berth cabins, and 27 four-berth cabins, and the number of passengers carried will not he greater than before. Their comfort has been increased by the erection of a glassed-ln veranda.

The Mooltan now has 236 cabins In the first and 123 In the second class, a total of 339 in all, which In tho off season can bo used as singlcrberth cabins.
