WELLINGTON, December 19,
His Honor Mr Justice MacGregor today entered judgment in terms of the award of the arbitrator in the case of Frederick Henry Rennie against Margarct Diamond, of Napier, in respect of the Central Hotel, which he managed for a time. He claimed £745 wages—money paid out on behalf of defendant—anil other sums for which he had made himself responsible. Defendant counterclaimed for £SOO for alleged failure to keep proper books and for alleged negligence in employing a barman who was convicted of ’ bookmaking. She also claimed accounts. His Honor at the hearing ordered the questions at issue, excluding the claim for £SOO damages, to be tried before an arbitrator, whose award give plaintiff £O9O Ss, and the defendant £6O 6s 7d on her claim for accounts. His Honor dismissed the claim for damages, and ordered defendant to pay the arbitrator’s fee and plaintiff’s costs, witnesses’ expenses ansl disbursements.
