When: “ The Family Upstairs” comes tb 'the Theatre on BoxingDajr local people will be treated .to a delight* ful' little comedy,. which in every ' way lives up to its reputation. The member* of the cast have been carefully chosen* while special scenery and wardrobe properties have beep made for the presentation. In Australia, “ The Family Upstairs” scored heavily, and there is Absolutely no reason why it should not dp so in this-city, especially as it and the shows to follow are to be offered at particularly low prices of admission. Everybody, therefore, can see and appreciate the -plays. It is centred around, a mother’s efforts to create, a wrong, imr pression of prosperity in the eyes of a young man who is a. probable suitor forher daughter’s hand. .As she admits later in the piece, “she exaggerates a little,” but, however, the harm is done and the wrong must be righted. The show is brimming with humour, and the players carry their parts very successfully. As has already been said, “The Family Upstairs” will precede-other comedies to be presented at .the Princess; An advertisement on another page of this issue gives box plan details.-., .
