A DARING SWINDLE

A daring swindle was perpetrated by two men at a cost of £SOOO to the Australian Bank of Commerce. This bank received a telephone message from the National Bank asking for £SOOO in notes. Hours later the National Bank received the warrant in the usual exchanges. The signatures were forgeries, and they refused to “0.K.” the document. swindle was then discovered.
