(Received Nov. 8, at 5.5 p.m.) A return issued by the Ministry of Transport shows that the gross amount received in payment for motor licenses issued during the nine months ended August 31 was nearly £24,000,000. The total number of motor vehicles, excluding tramcars, was approximately 2,131,000, compared with 1,006,000 in the corresponding period of the previous year. The total number of mechanically propelled road vehicles registered for the first time during the month of August exceeded 19,000.
