WESTMINSTER GLEE SINGERS.
The Westminster Glee Singers gave a special school matinee at the Burns Hall yesterday afternoon, •when the hall was packed with children from 17 of the primary schools of city and suburbs. The. programme was'greatly appreciated by the young people. Last night there was a large attendance at the _ hall, when the programme of the previous evening was repeated, and the hearty applause'bestowed upon' it was ample evidence that the efforts of the company were enjoyed by their patrons. The concerted work was capital in all the items presented, and toe soloists met with a reception that must have been very gratifying to them, especially to the younger members of toe troupe. Harry Fearn, the leading boy soloist, was in excellent voice, and it was a rare treat to listen to his well-sus-tained musical notes. The other juveniles rendered their items with fine skill The extraordinary pitch of excellence reached by the young choristers is a matter of surprise to an audience, but. perhaps, it is only what might be looked for, considering that many of the cathechoirs in Lngland have no fewer than 14 services a week. The opporunity of hearing the company should not be allowed to pass by musicians in our midst. To-day there will be a matinee, and m the evening there wili be another when a fresh programme will be submitted.
