Growers of citrus fruits in Poverty Bay have been having a better season than was the case last year (says the Poverty Bay Herald). Last year the market at times was erratic, and while the same has been the case this year to some extent, the prices generally have been higher and more consistent. . Cured lemons were sent away from Gisborne this year for the first time, this marking an important stage in the development of the citrus industry. Arrangements have not been made yet, however, for the complete curing process at all orchards here, but citrus growers have this matter well in hand, and next year should see a decided improvement in their methods. Some of the growers have not yet been able to install baths as an adjunct to the curing process, but they intend doing so before next year. The crop this year was a particularly good one, and more lemons were sent away than last year, the majority finding their way to Dunedin and Christchurch,
