DUNEDIN FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of tile council of the Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association was held in First Church classroom on Thursday afternoon. The following members were present:—Mrs Phillips (in the chair). Lady Allen, Mesdames Batham, Brewer, Cox, Evans, Ewing, Callaway, Gleiidining. Halsted, Hudson, Jenkins, Maclean, Wright, Apologies were received from Mesdames Cameron and Hutchison and Miss Scott. Dr Grace Stevenson, the Government medical examiner, was continuing her examination of the kindergarten children, and would be at Reynolds and North-East "V alley schools this month, Mr J. Renfrew White had commenced a class for members of staff in physical culture instruction which would be suited to kindergarten children. Arrangements were in hand for break-ing-ups and for a social evening, when diplomas would be presented to successful students of tiie year. The breakimup dates are as follow: a Hudson, December 1(5; Reynolds December 17; St. Kilda, December 17; Kelsey, December 17; North-East Valley, December 18; Kaikorai, December 18 It was with regret that the resignation of Miss Brown, the association's collector. was received. Miss Brown had acted in this capacity for a period of 10 years, and during that time had been untiring in her efforts on the association’s behalf. Two efforts had been made duriir> the past month in the form of a rummage sale, and a sale of daffodils given by Mr Hart of U etherstoncs. both efforts benefiting the association’s funds to a gratifying extent. Votes of thanks were accorded Mrs J. Mollison, who acted as convener of the rummage sale; Mr Hart. Mrs Sutherland, of Lawrence, who arranged picking; and Mesdames Ewing and Glendining for arranging the sale of flowers. Messrs Hislop and Gibson kindly gave a packing ca'e for storage purposes at the St. Kilda kindergarten, for which thanks were accorded.
