THEFT CHARGE DISMISSED.
CAMPING, PARTY'S ACCOUNT. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON. November 8. Mr E. Page, S.M., to-day dismissed a charge of theft against Frederick George A an Slyke in respect to £2 12s (id he was supposed to pay a tradesman on behalf of a camping party front the Wellington Rowing Club. He did not regard accused's conduct as altogether satisfactory, however, as the club looked to him to preserve its good name. It was mentioned that on account of the previous publicity the accused had lost his position at Palmerston North. Counsel stated that the account was one in which the accused was personally liable to a tradesman, and the reason ho had not paid it was that some members of the party had still to'pay him.
