GOVERNMENT’S PROPOSALS. LENGTHY DEBATE BY MINERS. (United Pren Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, November 8. (Received Nov. 8, at 11 p.m.) The Miners 5 - Conference, after a lengthy debate, accepted the - general principles of the Government' coal plan, “while' adhering to the previous decisions relating to reduction of hours and complete reorganisation, including a national-agreement." The resolution added that the executive,. in conjunction with -the miners’ representatives in the House of Commons, should continue its efforts to improve the Cabinet’s plan. An emergency meeting in the evening decided, in view of the attitude of the owners, that the miners’ representatives should proceed immediately with the drafting, of a Bill on the lines of their own proposals, and rush it through both Houses before Christmas, even if an allnight sitting be necessary.
