THE LAST FAINT ECHO,
MR WILFORD EXPRESSES REGRET
(-From Ocr. Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON. November 6. The last faint echo of the parliamentary incident known as the “ London Loan Mystery’ ’.’ wan heard in the House of Kepresctnatives this afternoon, when" the Minister of Justice (Mr T. M. Wilford) expressed his regrets for any reflection cast py him on Mr W. Downie Stewart* ex-Mmister of Finance. “When the statement on the subject by the Prime Minister was read on October 26, I said I also added my regrets,” said Mr Wilford, 'Apparently no notice was taken of my remarks by the newspapers. T ■wish, therefore, to take this opportunity of saying I also express my regrets to the member for Dunedin West.’’
