(From Odr Own Correspondent.) PEMBROKE, November 6. THE WEATHER. Another week has passed without a break in the dry weather,'but the sky is now overcast with heavy rain clouds, and a light shower this afternoon, with a noticeable drop in the temperature, may indicate the end of the present drought. CRICKET, The Wanaka team played Lowburn on the local Domain on Saturday, and Was beaten by 8 runs. Lowburn, batting first, made 105, C. Brown (18) and R. Wishart (39 not out) reaching double figures. F. Scott, 4 wiokete for 24 runs, C. Ironside 1 for 14, and J. .Brooks 3 for 30, secured the wickets for Pembroke. Wanaka replied with 97, C. Ironside (11), W Trevathan (25), C. Collins (29), and G. Wilkie being the double-figure scorers. C. Brown, 5 wickets for 7 runs F. Patridge, 2 for 36, and R. Varcoe, 2 for 17, bowled well for Lowburn. LAWN TENNIS.

The Wanaka lawn tennis team travelled to Cromwell on Saturday, and succeeded ip winning its first match in the competition by defeating the Cromwell- players by 12 games to 4.
