ORKNEY AND SHETLAND ASSOCIATION.

The monthly social gathering of members of the Orkney and Shetland Association was held in the Embassy Salon last evening, the time being divided between music and dancing, the latter taking place in the Assembly Hall upstairs. There were about 50 couples at this. The concert was held in the hall 'below, the attendance being a large one. The'programme was a miscellaneous one, and consisted of songs, recitations, and a.lecturette by Mrs H. E. Barrowclough on the • History of Ireland.” The vocalists were Miss Ogg. Miss Oliver, Miss Henderson, and Mr Hunter, the two lastmentioned contributing a duet and the elocutionists Miss J. H. Anderson and Mrs Oliver. Supper was provided during the eyenuig, and dancing was continued for some little time after the concert concluded.
