FIGURE SKILL COMPETITION.
TO THE EOITOB. SiE/—ln reply to the letter tor "Bob Shy" in your issue of to-day, I should like to state that the competition is absolutely fair. There is no “ have ” or "catch" in it. and every figure is perfectly plain. It is purely one of skill. “ Bob Shy" thinks it is as easy as shelling peas and talks about nearly everyone having the correct answer, but let him try his " prentice " hand at the game and if he can get the same answer twice running he is a cleverer man than I take him to be. He will find the competition a very interesting and fascinating one. The judging will be in perfectly safe hands—those of persons not connected with the club—and “ Bob Shy ” need have no fear in entering the competition, as he, along with everyone else, will get a straight run. . I may add that no individual is deriving any benefit from the competition. It is in aid of the fund that is being got up to build a pavilion for the Burkes-St. Leonards Aquatic Club —a worthy object. —I am, etc.,
Charles J. Hayward. Hon. secretary, Burkes-St. Leonards Aquatic Club.
