MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The fortnightly meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association was held last evening, Mr A. M'Hutchon ocucpying the chair. Two new members were elected, one transfer was appproved, and one death recorded. Sergeant-major Johnston, a member of the committee, who was connected with the reorganisation of Main Body men of the Expeditionary Forces, had been inquiring of the secretary as to certain information he required. . It had been suggested that a reunion be held ou December 20. —The secretary was requested to supply the information asked for. An invitation was received from the Rev. V. G. Bryan King, who wrote on behalf of Bishop Richards, to attend Armistice Day services on November tl. Members of the executive intimated their intention of attending the services. The chairman, speaking in connection with the Commission of Inquiry, said they very much appreciated the work done by the secretary (Mr White). He had placed the evidence before the commission in a very satisfactory manner, and had given a good opening. He thought they should express their appreciation of the services rendered by Mr White and by members of the executive.—This was agreed to, and it was decided that a letter of thanks be sent to those who had attended the commission and given evidence. On the visit of the Governor-General being mentioned, it was decided to apply to the proper quarters requesting that he should visit the Returned Soldiers’ Association’s rooms before he left Dunedin.
