Mr. Charles Jean Eenaud, Peking’s oldest foreign resident, died recently. He was 82 years of age, and had resided for over 40 years in Peking and 50 years in China. Mr Eenaud was a wealthy recluse. He made a death-bed request that his own servants should cremate his body in his own. house.
