Y.W.C.A.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS. The monthly meeting of the Y.W.C.A. directors was presided over by Mrs Mackie Begg, acting president. Canon Button opened the morning session with a continuation of Ms studies on “ Christ in Industry,” pointing out that Christianity was the ultimate goal of all religions. The Hostel Committee reported that the work of joining the two hostel buildings and providing a small sleeping porch was now completed. It was with much regret that the board received the resignation of Miss Beardsley, who has filled the position of general secretary to the Y.W.C.A. since the closing of the Te Tauraata building, where she carried out very successful work. Miss Beardsley’s experience and technical know-ledge had been invaluable to the association in its efforts to carry out the industrial programme suggested at the Tawa Conference. The association was very grateful for the way in which she had maintained a high standard of programme activities Tn spite of a numerically inadequate staff.
