ALLEGED FORGERY
; a LONG ARM OF THE LAW. FORMER RESIDENT OF TEXAS ARRESTED. (Peb United Rbess Association.) AUCKLAND, September 25. Detective Sergeant Doyle and John R. Bigham, sheriff and chief of police of Bell County, Texas, yesterday arrested at Helensville A. B. Crouch, alias J. M., Cameron, alias John Grey, aged 48. It is alleged that by forgeries the accused obtained over 150,000 dollars from a bank at Temple, Texas, hy forged bills of lading. - The accused was first located at Christchurch in 1917,’ when he was residing there under the name of J. M. Cameron. He disappeared to America, returning to Helensville, where' he has resided for 11 years under the name of John Grey, and has acquired considerable means, as a land agent.
