CHINESE REBEL GENERAL
VICTORY OYER NATIONALISTS. HEAVY CAPTURES OF TROOPS. - (United Press Association,) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SHANGHAI, September 24. A serious blow has been dealt to the National forces -which, are operating against the rebel general Chang Fah-kwei in the vicinity of Ichang, op the Upper Yangtse, resulting in the capture of two river ■ transports and 5000 National troops.
Three .steamers loaded with troops were despatched up the river. They encountered heavy shell fire from the rebels, resulting in 50 Nationalists being killed and several hundred wounded. One vessel escaped.—Australian Press Association, .
