PORT CHALMERS FIRE BOARD
The quarterly meeting of the Port Chalmers Fire Board was held last night and was attended by Messrs A. Campbell (chairman), 'E. L. White T Mathewson, F. Smith, and H. A. b’ Brabant.
The Department of Internal Affairs notified its approval of Mr T. Mathewsons appointment to the board.—The chairman welcomed Mr Mathewson, who wa ® P l ' 6 ®,® ll *’ a member of the board. The Minister of Internal Affairs forwarded a copy of the annual report of the inspector of fire brigades.—Received. 0 half-yearly report from the brigade stated that the motor and gear Z?:? fm L or , d * The waf at full strength (is members). The brigade had attended a fire in a shop in George street, and the front portion of the building was saved. The fire bell in King Edward square was cracked. Helmets were being repaired. The brigade was endeavouring to send a team to the forthcoming demonstration at Oamaru, also a delegate to the confer““'7 1 , r e3ol , ved Put another bell forthwith in place of the damaged one.—The report was approved.
