OTAGO TRAMPING CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annua! meeting of the Otago Tramping Club was held in Lakes Restaurant last evening, Mr J. J. Kennedy presiding over a largo attendance of members In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the chairman congratulated the club on the success of the past season, and referred to the fact that during the year nine of the members had readied Milford Sound by way of the Grave-Talbot pass—a particularly praiseworthy feat. Mr Kennedy also reminded members that as the club had joined the Xew Zealand Native Bird Protection Society it was their duty to support the aims of the society in every way possible It was unfortunate that Messrs Gilmore Bros, had denied the dub the use of a hut on their property, on account of some damage haying been done to it by strangers, who had apparently been taken there by members.
Mr E. W Hunter seconded the motion which was carried.
Ihc following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr A. E. Gascoigne vice-presidents, Messrs E. W. Hunter and R. B. Smith; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. A. Pearson; auditor, Mr S. Angelcommittee—Misses L. Tweedy and A. V. Edmond, Messrs A. W. White and' H. Border: Rocial Committee—Misses .L Kennedy, J. Summerfield, M, Given (i, Clark, and P. Sinclair, and Messrs l' Hope and A. W. Anderson.
At the conclusion of the general business the meeting resolved itself into a social evening, several members contributing an enjoyable programme of musical items.
