(Received August 19, at 10 p.m.) Several were killed and 30 to 40 wounded in a fierce clash between Fascists and Socialists at Marein. The Socialists obtained a permit to make a demonstration, and the Fascists, known as the “ Helmwehr,” broke their own promise to confine their counter-demon-stration to a neighbouring village and poured into Marein in order to break up a Socialist meeting.
