BEAUTY APPLIED.

There is nothing like henna tea for coaxing the “high lights" of the hair to the surface. A coffee cupful of henna leaves makes a pint of tea. Let the tea stand for a quarter of an hour, and tie the leaves up in a_ muslin bag. A nightly application of ca.rvon oil (equal parts of lime water and linseed oil) will help to dispense that ugly rash that comes from sitting too near the tire these chilly evenings. Soap is best diluted with an equal amount of oatmeal when the skin is unduly sensitive. The soap should be shredded up finely, and the mixture packed in tiny muslin bags. Dark rings under the eyes, when not due to late nights, are invariably due to an*mia, aggravated by constipation. A laxative iron tonic, and plenty of air is often all that is necessary. ’ A mixture of camphor ico and zinc ointment (two parts of the former to every one of the latter) will often heal up acne soars and cold blisters. The salve should be applied at bedtime.
