The ' subject of the evening was a debate with the Korero Club on the question: “That we ought to submit to the tyranny of convention.” After an interesting contest the judge for the evening (Mr E. J. Anderson) gave his decision in favour of the Caversham Club, the result, being: Caversham 78 points, Korero 77. Mr Anderson, after criticising the different speeches, placed the speakers as follows: Mr J. G. Warrington (Cavensham) 1, Mr A. L. Hamer (Caversham) 2. Mr Hall- (Korero) 3.
